Saturday is a Special Day; It's the Day We Get Ready For Sunday...

You know that you're on your way to becoming a "real" dad when you spend your Saturday replacing the motor coupling on the washing machine, changing the oil in the car for its yearly registration, and replacing a headlight on said car.

I'd better play some video games or watch some cartoons before this goes too far...

Dear Ryan, 4/12/08

Yes, you are now officially a Dad!
You should be proud that you can fix everything yourself!! Dad totally understands your predicament. We hope the rest of the day was enjoyable. Be confident in your newly-needed skills! The picture is priceless!
Love,
Mom and Dad

I used to sleep in till noon on Saturdays and then try to find a pool where I could lounge in the sun.

Now I get up earlier on Saturdays than any other day of the week because there is so much stuff I have to get done!

I'm not sure when the switch happened, but I feel like someone should have given me official notice so I could have considered my options more fully.

I love the handy gene. Has your wife's "roll your eyes at Husband" gene kicked in, or does she still think you're the bees knees?
