Movember or "Excuse me sir, but you have dirt on your chin."
Can I get a "hey nonny, nonny?"

We went home to Utah for Thanksgiving and I thought I'd surprise everyone with my facial hair. Much to my chagrin, both Patrick and Jon had me bested with superior growth. I think I won in the "creepiest" category...or at least "itchiest." Until next year?...

Nature: Up Close and Personal
Early Last Month
That's me alone in the tent surrounded by moose.
I could hear them all night long and tried to be as still as I could.

Thanks to my mom for noticing I was trapped.
The sound of the calves nursing was thunderous two feet away.
And thanks to Matt for gently making them leave and for the great photos.
I was sure nobody would believe me without photographic evidence.

The original plan was to have the girls sleep out with me...so glad they stayed inside the cabin.

"The arts are not a way of making a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country
